FAQs and Top Tips for Bidding in an Auction – it’s easy!

Commission Bid

If you are unable to attend the auction, one of our team will be happy to bid on your behalf, this is called a Commission Bid. Many of our clients view the sale and instruct us to bid on their behalf. We obtain the item for you at the lowest price offered at the auction.

Example: If you left €50 commission bid on a lot. On the day you were the highest bidder at €30 -  you pay €30 plus 15% commission. We DO NOT START AT €50.

Estimates

Our staff will be happy to advise you and give estimates on any lot/s you may be thinking of bidding on.

Bidding Number

Bidding is conducted by a ‘bidding number’ which is obtained by registering at the office on the day of the sale.

Commission

There is a commission charge of 15% + incl VAT on the hammer price on each lot.
